Interlock

Interlock (interlocking pavers) is a smart, stylish paving choice that blends practical strength with personality – perfect for driveways, patios, walkways and poolside hangouts. Made from durable concrete, natural stone or clay, individual pavers click together to create a stable, low-maintenance surface that stands up to traffic, weather and the occasional backyard party. With endless color, shape and pattern options (plus permeable systems for greener drainage), interlock lets you turn functional surfaces into design features that welcome guests and boost curb appeal.

Installation

Plan & prep:

Mark the layout and excavate to the proper depth.

Base & bedding:

Compact crushed stone, then screed a thin sand layer for a level bed.

Lay & lock:

Place pavers in your pattern, add edge restraints, sweep joint sand (or polymeric sand).

Compact & finish:

Plate-compact to set everything, clean up, and optionally seal for color and protection.

Lift and Relaying Existing Interlock

Lift-and-relay interlock gives your tired pavers a second chance-think of it as a refresh, not a rebuild. We lift the problem areas, clear out old sand and debris, repair or re-compact the base as needed, then bed and re-lay the original pavers to match the existing pattern. After sweeping in fresh joint sand (or polymeric sand), compacting to lock everything in, and tidying up, you get a seamless, refreshed surface that looks great and performs like new-without replacing the whole patio or driveway.

How it's done

Step 1:
Inspect & Plan

Mark trouble spots, pick replacement pieces, and plan access know where things lift and why.

Step 2:
Lift & Clean

Carefully remove affected pavers, clear old joint sand and debris, and fix any base issues (add/compact stone if needed).

Step 3:
Re-bedding & Relay

Add a fresh screeded sand bedding, set pavers back in the pattern, trim where needed, and reinstall edge restraints.

Step 4:
Joint, Compact & Finish

Sweep in joint sand (or polymeric sand), plate-compact to lock everything in, clean up, and optionally seal for a refreshed look.
